Camping

One of the main activities at Whitwell Hall Country Centre is camping. Living in a camp environment among peers can enhance the social development of children of all ages. It is this social development that makes the camping experience an integral part of many organised youth groups and schools visit to the Centre. There are also many family groups that use the campsites during the school holiday periods at Whitwell to simply relax in a rich and peaceful countryside setting.

A unique feature of the Centre is the provision of open fire pads on all campsites, covered by large 'A' frame shelters. Most groups using the campsites use the open campfire for all their cooking needs. There are also a couple of large campfire circles on the estate where large numbers can gather and sit around a wonderful roaring campfire.

The Centre has all the equipment you need when coming on camp. 12' patrol tents can be supplied together with a full cook set and all the firewood you could need. Fully catered packages are also available meaning groups can forget about having to bring their food with them although they do still have to cook it! Alternately groups can hire only the campsite or the campsite and equipment.

If you enjoy 'real' camping with an open fire, in the setting of a historic countryside estate you will become enchanted with Whitwell Hall Country Centre and once you have found us we are sure you will want to come back again and again.
